Winter Hill - Bud Vase
The softly curving rim adds to the feeling of a landscape on the surface of this bud vase. An asymmetric stencil full of moody greys sits boldly on a backdrop of dusky blue and yellow. Glazed inside with a soft grey.
There aren’t many hills to speak of in Suffolk, and this design is more a nod to my memories of holidays in the Yorkshire Dales, and that beautifully wild landscape. Made in the depths of winter, I feel some of that season has imbodied this vase, with a hint of the coming spring peeping through in the flecks of yellow.
